Job Description

The Quality Assurance Manager provides leadership, direction and execution of quality and food safety functions at the plant level. Ensures all products produced meet or exceed customer, regulatory and company requirements.  Develops and motivates Quality Assurance team members to achieve company quality and food safety goals.

  • Manages activities of the Quality Assurance department in a manner which results in consistent product quality and safety.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.  Identify and communicate work place hazards.  Correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Leads the implementation of quality systems, including SQF, to ensure adherence to product specifications, GMP’s, SSOP’s, and HACCP requirements.
  • Manage the investigation, root cause analysis and resolution of customer issues.  Implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Assures accuracy of records and documentation of company and customer requirements.
  • Conduct food safety and food quality training sessions for plant personnel
  • Responsible for the QA staff’s training, performance and development, safety, work schedule, and any other duties associated with supervision of employees.
  • Performs as a plant contact person for sales and customer issues.
  • Manages the activities of the Quality Assurance department in a manner that keeps plant and upper management fully informed on any issues and assists in achieving quality and food safety goals.
  • Develops a professional working relationship and act as a plant liaison with USDA staff.
  • Assist in the preparation for and execution of customer and third-party audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Food Science, Animal Science, Meat Science, Biology, or related field
  • 2-5 years’ work experience in the food industry meat processing preferred.
  • Two years of direct Supervisory experience.
  • Five years of Quality experience in a food manufacturing facility.
  • HACCP trained and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) practitioner.
  • Knowledge of food processing principles and general plant functions, i.e., production, maintenance, warehouse, shipping and sanitation.
  • Ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of staff within the organization.
  • Manages multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and prioritizes work accordingly.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical aptitude.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with ability to improve and promote quality and safety.
  • Intermediate level of experience and knowledge of Windows Operating System, Internet Explorer, Excel and MS Word.
  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish preferred.

Job Description

  • Monitor and enforce proper sanitation, GMP and Food Safety/Quality procedures.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations.  Identify and communicate work place hazards.  Correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Provide supervision and support to operators.
  • Ensure product and process accuracy from ingredient selection through label application and shipping.
  • Collects, reviews and maintains files for all documentation relating to production and quality control for each shift.
  • Ensure that all employees’ record real-time data or any other appropriate information requested.
  • Execute any other projects given by management.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with the investigation, root cause analysis and resolution of customer issues.  Implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

  • Two to five years of experience working in a food manufacturing facility.
  • Working knowledge of GMPs, HACCP and Food Safety.
  • Food Quality department experience preferred.
  • Meat experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage control processes to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Outstanding organizational skills. Must pay meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to provide guidance to operations staff.
  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks with capability of prioritizing and planning work activities.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness with ability to improve and promote quality and safety.

Old World Naturals Brand Ambassador

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for smart, high-energy men and women who enjoy talking to people about nutrition and health to serve as brand ambassadors for our growing protein brand. Brand ambassadors will partner with other demo team members to execute in-store and event-based demonstrations for consumers to sample product and learn more about the brand. Most demo opportunities will focus on marketing our new line of all-natural craft delicatessen through in-store sampling at retailers and grocery stores. The position requires responsible and accountable people who can handle a light demo setup, engage with retail staff as needed, enthusiastically sample product, and maintain a clean and food-safe workspace.

CANDIDATE RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Positive energy and professional demeanor; ability to represent the Old World Naturals brand in a highly positive manner
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills/natural sales ability
  • An awareness of healthy eating, as well as natural and sustainable food trends, and an interest in learning more about the health benefits of grass-fed beef and regenerative agriculture

Demos are typically held on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) for 4 to 5 hours total and include both setup and breakdown of the demo space. Machine Maintenance Mechanic

SUMMARY

High paced food production plant looking for talented technician to help production both maintain equipment and the facilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preventative Maintenance to include equipment lubrication, equipment teardown, identification of parts showing wear, parts purchasing, and rebuilding of the equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and assist production with optimizing the equipment settings.
  • Monitor the boilers, air compressors, refrigeration compressors, power, and water to ensure utilities are functioning properly.
  • Assist skilled technical vendors as necessary.
  • Perform predictive maintenance analysis to identify impending failures.
  • Assist with new equipment installation and startup as necessary.
  • Perform equipment setups and teardowns to assist production and sanitation to ensure optimal performance and food safety.

This position will be subject to call back on weekends and holidays and may work overtime. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2 plus years prior machine maintenance experience in manufacturing environment required.
  • Be able to trouble shoot electrical, hydraulic systems and pneumatic equipment.
  • Electrical background in addition to mechanical skills. Experience with computerized or automated controls and ability to read electric schematics a plus.
  • Self-motivated detail oriented and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Successful completion of drug screen, background check and physical fit for duty test.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement process mindset.
  • Perform diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilities equipment.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
