Machine Maintenance Mechanic

SUMMARY

High paced food production plant looking for talented technician to help production both maintain equipment and the facilities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Preventative Maintenance to include equipment lubrication, equipment teardown, identification of parts showing wear, parts purchasing, and rebuilding of the equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment failures and assist production with optimizing the equipment settings.
  • Monitor the boilers, air compressors, refrigeration compressors, power, and water to ensure utilities are functioning properly.
  • Assist skilled technical vendors as necessary.
  • Perform predictive maintenance analysis to identify impending failures.
  • Assist with new equipment installation and startup as necessary.
  • Perform equipment setups and teardowns to assist production and sanitation to ensure optimal performance and food safety.

This position will be subject to call back on weekends and holidays and may work overtime. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 2 plus years prior machine maintenance experience in manufacturing environment required.
  • Be able to trouble shoot electrical, hydraulic systems and pneumatic equipment.
  • Electrical background in addition to mechanical skills. Experience with computerized or automated controls and ability to read electric schematics a plus.
  • Self-motivated detail oriented and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Successful completion of drug screen, background check and physical fit for duty test.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Continuous improvement process mindset.
  • Perform diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facilities equipment.
  • Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

Overnight Sanitation Manager

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Plant Manager, overnight sanitation is responsible for the sanitation and organization of all equipment, machinery and utensils used in the daily production process as well as the cleanliness of the plant.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinates all sanitation activities with Sanitation Team to accomplish sanitation practices according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s)
  • Maintains daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation records
  • Conducts ATP SWAB testing as necessary
  • Must be a demonstrated decision-maker who easily interacts with others
  • Collects regular water samples, check PH levels and maintain accurate records
  • Maintains excellent working relationships with internal departments, external customers and suppliers
  • Follows Old World Provisions’ Food and Health and Safety Regulations
  • Performs all job responsibilities under the strictest guidelines of the HACCP safety standards
  • Ensures all chemicals used in the cleaning process are mixed with a proper solution according to the suppliers’ specifications
  • Performs other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in a sanitation environment (meat processing plant experience is desirable)
  • Previous experience in a sanitation environment using chemicals is an asset
  • Accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to detect the presence of a sanitation issue
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Good communication skills
  • Familiar with internal and external inspections
  • Physically capable of performing the demands of the role
  • Ability to move from one task to another with minimal distraction
